19 March Sea Day

Another day at sea, we've all mastered the Carnival Hub App, and selected a range of potential activities for today...or not, as the mood takes us.

Up and meet for breaky at 8.30 - to beat the rush that we experienced at 9am yesterday. A much better option. Dad was first in line and had it all sorted after getting up before the sun and catching the sunrise from his Easterly facing balcony. Thanks for the pics Dad!

Can you see that very small spot of light on the horizon...as the Beatles say  Here comes the sun!

An explosion of colour.
Breaky done and we all went our separate ways to do whatever.

Some of the activities we variously participated in today included.

Chinese Medicine Seminar for Koula.

Nouveau Cooking Class for Sue, Bron, Koula and Nic
Mikayla and Gusto - she was repeating his words in the mike for us.
Mushroom cappucino - which was a 6 types of mushroom soup with a foam on top.

The chocolate tasting plate. The second chef made the Tiramisu, which is second from the right.

The two Chef's.

IGusto - I think was his name.

Just some of the decorations
The Broiled Supreme of Free Range chicken on the left and Baby leaf spinach and fresh mushrooms on the right.

Some of the ingredients, rosemary, tomatoes, and 6 types of mushies.

Some work for Mike

Walking around for Dad

Funk dance class for Bron and Mike.

Back to the room for a bit before getting ready for dinner.

The consensus was this was a frog...could be a monkey though.

Sue catching some rays and a few zzzz's as well...on our balcony.

Nouveau restaurant for dinner. Poor Koula has been struck by the seasickness, and had messaged us all to say, she'd taken Ginger Ale and a seasick tablet, but would skip dinner, very disappointing for her. Once we arrived, they cleared Koula's place and started taking orders, when thankfully, Koula rallied, with the drugs and Ale kicking in and joined us.

Dinner was delicious. You actually pay for this meal (45 bucks) but boy was it worth it.

Time for some food porn shots...I must get those one's from Bron.

Bron and her 'complementary' prawn from the chef, given she doesn't eat seafood, it was the only meal, we had left to take a pic of.

Sue and her main of Maine Lobster Ravioli.

Mike, Dad, Koula and I all had Surf and turf, a delicious half scotch fillet with a lobster tail.

We were milking Dad's birthday, another celebration tonight, wiht the sparkles on the table...

Koula and the chocolate sampler...wow its a lot of food.
Mike and his Chocolate Sampler.

Dad and his Raspberry Cheesecake.

Sue also chose Raspberry Cheesecake, I had an International selection of Icecreams and Sorbets, but forgot to get a shot.

Then the complimentary "Happy Birthday' from the waiter team, along with some yummo chocolate cake...which NONE of us needed...and complementary champagne too.

Here comes the champas.

Happy Birthday, dear John....
Happy Birthday to you!

How are we gong to manage that too.
Working on it all.
With a break between main and dessert, Bron, Mike, Dad and I whizzed downstairs for our family portrait photo shoot that Bronwyn had arranged..an interesting an experience in a tiny room with all the lights and a young photographer from Ukraine, named Yudmyla -Myla for short, she worked us hard in various combinations and to get a smile threw in the occasional pig snorts and cat meows.  Will be interesting to see what eventuates, in a couple of days when we go and look (and spend up big no doubt)

We all finished dinner and then onto the evenings entertainment:
1. the 88 Keys show in Pharaoh's Palace.
The show crew on stage.

Another set change, costume change and another Piano tune
We had seats off to the side, which allowed a great view of the mechanics of a stage show.

Comfy, high backed chairs too...

2. followed by comedy Punchlines - with Greg Hutchison who was very funny,

Greg Hutchison. We saw his PG show last night and really wanted to see his Adults only show tonight, so made the effort to stay up.
...unfortunately, we weren't as impressed by the next guy, but it was really impossible to leave without fear of being heckled. Bron and Mike ditched a little earlier than Sue, Dad and I who rolled home to rooms 11.45, ready to pack and get ready for our first Port of Call - Noumea - in the morning.

  1. It was definitely a frog! Pig snorts from the photographer? That's quite amusing!
