23 March - Sea Day # 1.

Well an easy day to day, no need to meet to leave the ship, a sea day. Our plans have us meeting up at 12.30 for lunch, so no need to be anywhere prior to that.
The 180 degree view from Balcony, nothing but sea, picture doesn't capture the roughness.
I woke later, which was nice, then went up to to Deck 10 for a morning walk, then wandered back through Lido for breaky of muesli, yoghurt, fruit, warm toast and vegemite and a piece of Apple Panetone...yum.  Saw nothing of the rest of our crew.

Pottered around until lunchtime, where we sampled the Lido lunch, I finally got to try the Burger bar, chose a Plain Jane with SMC (Special Melty cheese) and then built it up from there with toppings - of which there was quite a range. Kept it reasonably simple with lettuce, and bacon and sauce, with some chips and bits on the side, quite tasty I thought.

After lunch I finally got around to reading some book, which was pleasant by the window in the Alchemy Bar.

The sea has been quite rough since departing Isle of Pines, with swells of 4 metres and the ship rocking and rolling a little, when I was walking this morning it was up hill and down as the ship see sawed it's way through the chop.

Mike in training mode on their balcony.

Mike is a mountain climber so this is literally hanging by your fingertips on a 12mm ledge.
Later in the night, I saw a young kid about 9 or so, come out of his cabin and sit on the stairs, I asked if he was OK, said his cabin was full of vomit, his mum and sister had filled the toilet, and if he didn't get out he'd be sick too, poor kid. Saw him later on the Lido deck with icecream, he was doing OK, not sure about the family.

There was shopping specials and our family portraits photo shoot to check out today at 3pm, but otherwise a quiet day.

We went to Empire Room for dinner at our usual table, and to thank our team of waiters - Oleksandra, Gede and Bagus (we are off to Nouveau tomorrow night) and tip them for their excellent service.

Our standard dinner view

Our wonderful wait team, Gede (pronounced Gday) Oleksandra from Ukraine, and Bagus from Indonesia. They  were excellent, knew us all be name from first night, very attentive and helpful

Then after dinner, we did our last show - Miss Houdini, supported by the Playlist Principal Performers (the dancers) she was an illusionist and an escapologist and also swung around and tangled herself up in drapes from the roof.  Quite a good show. Sue took off to Sports Bar in hope of some footy, Mike, Bron, Dad and I went to the Punchliner Comedy to see an OK comedian, then bed for me. Left Dad in Shanghai listening to Piano with Kevin - it was too early for him to head
off.

Just hanging about

She tore up some paper, that became mountains of confetti, that was then sprayed out into the crowd as well.

Spent the rest of the night preparing pics and blog.
