The lead up - sometime 2017.
Well, Dad (J R Stuart) will turn 80 in 2018.
Bronwyn and I figured we needed to mark the event.
Being the experienced cruiser that she is, Bronwyn thought a cruise would would be a good way to go.
After a fair bit of procrastination, we decided that a reasonably short cruise would be best and found an 8 day South Pacific Cruise that fit the bill, and departed around Dad's birthdate of 15 March.
It was Bronwyn's job to convince Dad that it was a good idea, which she managed to do...then it was about making the dream a reality.
We put the word out to a range of Dad's family and friends.
On a family occasion in Melbourne, we all nailed the booking. Bronwyn, Mike, Nicola and John, will be joined by a good friend of Nicola's Sue and a friend of Bron and Mike's, Koula.
Booking organised, there were a few other bits to get sorted...for one Dad needed a passport, and travel insurance, a case, mask and snorkel and some new clothes. With all that done and dusted...it was just a matter of wait for the time to come.
